Koszalin Wood Industry Company reports lower sales for 2023

New data Poland’s Koszalin Wood Industry Company (KPPD) has announced that, last year, the business posted sales revenues of some PLN 356 million (US$88 million), a decrease of some 25 percent compared with a year earlier.

The main factor which negatively affected our results was the deep economic downturn in the wood industry, which resulted in a significant decline in sales volume in a situation of a simultaneous increase in the prices of forest raw materials, with the impossibility of translating this increase into the prices of our products,” said Marek Szumowicz-Włodarczyk, the president of the management board of KPPD, as quoted by local industry news site Drewno.pl.

The company’s president said that, with this in mind, KPPD’s activities in 2023 were aimed at maintaining financial liquidity and optimizing costs: among others: the launch of new investments was limited, the employment level was reduced, the purchase of raw materials was adjusted to sales possibilities”.
