Lucart, the multinational paper group known for the brands Tenderly, Lucart Professional, and Grazie EcoNatural, has received the Platinum rating for the fourth consecutive year, the highest level of recognition awarded by EcoVadis, the world’s leading independent agency for corporate sustainability assessments. The Platinum rating is granted to only 1% of companies evaluated globally by EcoVadis, which has assessed over 150,000 companies across more than 250 industries in 185 countries. With an overall score of 89/100, up 4 points from the previous year, Lucart reaffirms its commitment to continuous improvement.
The evaluation covers four key areas of sustainability: environment, labour practices and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Lucart achieved excellent results in all categories, standing out particularly in the environmental area (96/100) and for the strength of its social responsibility and supply chain practices.
This achievement is even more significant within the paper industry benchmark, where Lucart ranks among the top performers thanks to its ability to combine industrial innovation with a strong focus on sustainability.
Ongoing Commitment, Signed and Documented
The Group has further strengthened its commitment to decarbonization by joining the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), aiming to develop a greenhouse gas emission reduction strategy based on the latest scientific evidence and validated by a third-party organization. By the end of 2025, Lucart will present specific reduction targets for direct emissions (Scope 1), indirect emissions from purchased energy (Scope 2), and indirect emissions across the value chain (Scope 3).
Concurrently, Lucart has officially signed the AMFORI-BSCI Code of Conduct (Business Social Compliance Initiative), reinforcing its commitment to ensuring human rights, decent working conditions, and transparency throughout its supply chain. This step marks a concrete move toward more responsible growth, aligned with the ethical and sustainability principles that guide the Group’s daily operations.
As part of its ongoing evolution, Lucart has also adopted a new Integrated Sustainability Policy, which outlines cross-cutting principles and five thematic areas where the company focuses its efforts: climate, environment, safety, health and well-being of people, ethical supply chain, and responsible business. This document formalizes the goal of creating high-quality products while respecting natural resources and building a shared future with all stakeholders.
“This achievement is a source of pride for all of us and confirms the value of the path we’ve taken,” said Francesco Pasquini, CEO of Lucart. “EcoVadis’ recognition encourages us to continue with determination on our journey toward an increasingly sustainable development model, with a constant commitment to improving our performance and maintaining a long-term vision, in line with what we presented in our latest Sustainability Report.”
The EcoVadis rating is based on international sustainability standards such as the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact, International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) standards, ISO 26000 standard, and CERES principles (Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economies).
