Mayr-Melnhof bets on eco-friendly moulded pulp

Push for sustainable products In a bid to expand its product range, Austria’s Mayr-Melnhof has announced it is marketing its “latest eco-friendly breakthrough”, MM moulded pulp, a fiber-based, plastic-free solution.

 

“Leveraging thermoformed wet-moulding technology, this recyclable packaging transforms industries like Food & Specialities, Pharma & Healthcare, Beauty & Personal Care, and more,” the business said in a statement.

 

“With MM Moulded Pulp, we strive to make the transition from plastic packaging to compostable, renewable and recyclable alternatives effortless for our customers,” according to the Austria-based manufacturer.

 

Mayr-Melnhof says it is operated by an international workforce of about 15,000 employees who work in some 33 countries across the world. The Austrian company calls itself “a global leader in consumer packaging, providing packaging solutions for cartonboard and folding cartons with an attractive offer in kraft papers, uncoated fine papers, leaflets and labels.”
