Sonae Arauco becomes a member of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) International.
According to the announcement, the company, which is one of the largest wood-based solutions’ players in the world, joins a group of more than 1000 members that integrate this international non-profit organization, dedicated to promoting the responsible management of the world’s forests.
“Being a member of FSC International made perfect sense for Sonae Arauco, once that we are completely committed with the use of wood originated from sustainable sources, certified and controlled”, explains Nuno Calado, Wood Regulation & Sustainability Manager at Sonae Arauco.
The company is a result of a joint-venture between the Portuguese Sonae Indústria and the Chilean Arauco companies.
