Mondi Group has unveiled plans to invest some €260 million with the aim to modernise its containerboard plant in Świecie, Poland.
As part the Green Świecie programme, the company is to increase the plant’s energy efficiency, cut CO2 emissions and enhance the facility’s output capacity, according to the information obtained by local news site Rynekpapierniczy.pl. The investments are to be completed in 2017.
Mondi operates six box plants in Poland. Mondi´s Corrugated Packaging business segment, part of the Fibre Packaging business unit, currently op-erates 14 box plants in Central and Emerging Europe.
Mondi’s Polish production facility is operated by the company’s local off-shoot Mondi Świecie S.A.
