JSC “Latvia's State Forests” announces a tender for forestry works

In order to ensure timely and high-quality forest management and restoration, JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM) announces an open tender for forest planting, young stand tending, agro-technical tending and restoration works in 2020-2024. Contractors with or without forestry experience are invited to take part in the tender. Tender proposals should be submitted in the electronic procurement system (EIS) by 11 October.

“We have noticed that the offer of forestry jobs seems attractive to both men and women. It is important that a person wishes to work and develop professionally. We are pleased that we have acquired reliable and knowledgeable partners in the regions of Latvia who apply for forestry works every year. For the majority of them, work in the forest is a permanent source of income, but for others it is an opportunity to earn additional income,” says Lauris Ropājs, LVM Forestry Quality Manager.

Potential contractors are invited to apply for one or several forestry jobs under the tender: afforestation (19 960 ha), replenishment of reforested areas (2 869 ha), agro-technical tending of reforested areas (52 084 ha), tending of young stands (49 942 ha), protection of restored forest areas (32 155 ha) and protection of young tree trunks (9 865 ha).
