Shanying Paper finalizes acquisition of Nordic Paper

Nordic Paper Holding is changing the ownership as Shanying Paper International is about to acquire the pulp- and paper company.

At a signing ceremony at the Governments Offices representatives from both companies met.

CEO Per Bjurbom from Nordic Paper signed the cooperation agreement together with Shanying Paper Internationals Chairman of the board, Wu Mingwu. The ceremony was witnessed by among others Minister of Enterprise and Innovation, Mikael Damberg and Party Secretary of the Zhejiang Province, Che Jun. In addition to these participants there was approximately 40 representatives from China.

-  We are really looking forward to the new ownership. It´s a long-term industrial owner and that is something that we strongly believe will be good for the company and the employees future. And to be a part of a signing ceremony is obviously something out of the ordinary, says Per Bjurbom.

 

Shanying is a China based pulp and paper Company and its core business consists of recycled fibre trading, kraft paper manufacturing, packaging, design, printing and logistics. The company is part of the Taison Group and has been listed at the Shanghai Stock Exchange since 2001.

 

The acquisition of Nordic Paper holding AB makes Shanying one of Chinas biggest paper and packaging manufacturers with global focus. The Group has approximately 9000 employees.

 

Nordic Paper will remain as an independent European pulp and paper company and there will be no changes regarding the business or the operations at the moment.
