At the beginning of 2016, a new fully automatic conveyor system by Minda was put into operation at the Model Obaly plant in Nymburk. Its installation began with extensive modifications to the production hall in September 2015 and was finished by the end of December 2015.
The new system has replaced the former setup consisting of a semi-automatic palletizer by ZŤS and manual transportation of cardboard sheets using forklifts. The recent upgrade increased the capacity of the corrugator as well as the maximum dimensions of produced sheets from 3.3 x 2.5 m to 4.2 x 2.5 m.
Other advantages of the new conveyor system are a lower amount of transportation waste and a decrease in the use of forklifts, which have been the cause of some serious workplace accidents.
