Håkan Svensson named president of Sodra Timber

Since May last year, Håkan Svensson has been operating as both the Director of Forestry and the Acting President of Södra Timber. The Board of Directors has now decided to appoint Håkan Svensson as the President of Södra Timber. At the same time work will commence on recruiting a new Director of Forestry.

Håkan Svensson holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University. He then worked as a sales representative and head of sales for chemicals group Dow Corning. He became the CEO of engineering company Bengtssons Maskin in 2000. His first appointment at Södra was as the President of Gapro (now Södra Interiör) in 2005. He was appointed Director of Forestry at Södra in 2011.Håkan Svensson will continue in both of his current roles until a new Director of Forestry can take over.
