The District Court in Krško initiated bankruptcy proceedings Vipap Videm, which reportedly is Slovenia's only newsprint mill.
According to the Slovenian Press Agency (STA) Vipap had already idled production at the end of 2025, and temporarily laid-off the majority of its employees.
Vipap Videm is an integrated pulp and paper mill with two paper machines.
Vipap Videm Krško is the largest paper producer in Slovenia and also one of the largest suppliers of newsprint and magazine paper in Central and South-eastern Europe. Its production exceeds 200,000 tons of paper every year.[1][2] In addition to newsprint, magazine paper and leaflets, the company focuses on the production of packaging paper as well.
