Opportunities NB supports Irving Paper with up to $15 million

The government of New Brunswick in Canada, through Opportunities NB, is providing up to $54.3 million over the next three years to support New Brunswick companies as they modernize operations, improve productivity, strengthen long-term competitiveness and keep New Brunswickers working.

“Opportunities NB has remained highly responsive as businesses in New Brunswick navigate a changing economic landscape,” said Luke Randall, minister responsible for Opportunities NB. “When we invest in large companies, we are supporting companies that anchor our economy and create benefits felt across supply chains and in communities throughout the province. Opportunities NB’s tailored supports encourage businesses of all sizes across the province to invest in their operations to drive growth and keep our business community competitive.”

One of these companies is Irving Paper. 

Up to $15 million per year over three years to Irving Paper Ltd. to support the global competitiveness of New Brunswick’s only remaining paper mill during a period of significant cost pressure and market volatility. This investment is intended to help sustain operations, protecting more than 183 jobs and $20.6 million in annual payroll.
