Ahlstrom, a global leader in fiber-based specialty materials, has been recognized for its strong commitment to climate action, earning a Leadership score of A- rating in the 2025 CDP Climate change disclosure for the second year in a row. In addition to climate action, Ahlstrom has received ratings for its Water security and Forests disclosures, achieving a score B for both themes.

CDP’s evaluation is based on comprehensive disclosures covering strategy, targets, governance, risks, and opportunities, and concrete actions taken over the previous year on the three environmental issue areas.

The climate change score highlights Ahlstrom’s strategic and systematic efforts to reduce climate impact across the value chain while reinforcing our dedication to transparency and action in tackling climate change. The score reflects the meaningful progress Ahlstrom has made in cutting emissions and motivates the company to accelerate its efforts even further. The Water security and Forests scores reflect the progress and impact Ahlstrom already has. Ahlstrom recognizes the importance of these areas, and insights from CDP scores help identify key focus areas for further development.

"We have made significant strides in reducing emissions through our energy transition program. Since 2021, our Scope 1 and 2 absolute emissions have decreased by 23%, demonstrating the tangible impact of our initiatives. In 2024, we continued to strengthen supplier engagement, aiming to tackle our Scope 3 emissions, reinforcing our commitment to reduce carbon footprint across the entire value chain," says Johan Lunabba, Vice President, Sustainability and Public Affairs at Ahlstrom.

In addition to the CDP achievement, Ahlstrom’s sustainability leadership was further recognized in 2025 with a Platinum medal from EcoVadis, placing the company among the top 1 percent in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices globally. Ahlstrom also received a score A in CDP’s Supplier Engagement Assessment in the 2024 disclosure. The evaluation is based on governance and business strategy, Scope 3 emissions reporting and verification, targets, risk management processes, and supplier engagement.
