Canada’s wood products, paper manufacturing industries report lower sales in January 2024

Sales decrease The Canadian wood products industry has posted sales of some C$3.029 billion (US$2.238 billion) for the first month of this year. In January 2023, the sector generated sales of about C$3.045 billion. For paper manufacturing industry players, January 2024 was also weaker than the same month a year earlier, with sales falling from around C$2.89 billion to some C$2.72 billion.

 

The latest results indicate that Canada-based wood products manufacturers decreased their sales by around 0.53 percent, as shown by figures collected by Statistics Canada (SC), the country’s statistics agency.

 

With regards to manufacturers of paper products, the same period brought a decrease of about 4.9 percent in terms of the sectors sales, according to data released by the state-run institution.
