Sappi Europe, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging paper, has introduced “Algro Finess C,” a coated flexible packaging paper specifically designed for coffee packaging.
Known for its high-quality appearance and excellent printing and processing properties, this new paper also effectively reduces fold and colour breaks that can detract from the packaging's appearance at the point of sale (POS). Sappi, a market leader in coated flexible packaging papers, has continuously evolved its portfolio over recent years, tailoring its solutions to meet the specific product requirements of its customers.
For avid coffee drinkers, starting the day without their favourite hot beverage is unimaginable. True coffee enthusiasts value both the product quality inside the packaging and the visual appeal of the design and packaging itself. Sappi has developed “Algro Finess C,” to win over customers in stores, enabling brand manufacturers to attract consumers to their products.
“Algro Finess C” for Added Finesse
This newly developed, one-sided, double-coated MGBK paper (Machine Glazed Bleached Kraft) is specifically designed for flexible packaging applications. It is ideal for various packaging uses in the coffee and food sectors, such as snacks and confectionery. Coffee packaging, in particular, often exhibits fold and colour breaks after printing and folding, revealing white areas. “Algro Finess C” addresses and prevents these unsightly spots. The paper features a high-gloss surface and treated backside, available in 80 g/m² and 90 g/m² grammages. Its unique properties also make it suitable for direct contact with food.
Superior Printing and Finishing
The flexible packaging paper excels in printing and finishing qualities. Thanks to its high-gloss surface and outstanding printing properties, “Algro Finess C” achieves excellent print results in flexographic or gravure printing processes. The solid colour and tonal reproduction ensure a striking appearance that can capture consumer attention at the POS. Furthermore, “Algro Finess C” leaves nothing to be desired regarding strength. Its exceptional stability allows for seamless processing as a wrap in the packaging line, even at high speeds.
