VEB.RF, a Russian state development corporation and one of the largest investment companies in the country, will launch one of the largest pulp productions in Russia at the capacities of its Kraslesinvest enterprise.

The new production will be commissioned on the basis of already existing timber processing complex of the company in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

JSC Kraslesinvest was founded by VEB in 2008 to implement an investment project for the construction of a timber industry complex with a sawmill, a pellet mill and a pulp mill in the Boguchansky District of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

The cutting area of the complex is 3.2 million timber per year. The sawmill was launched in 2016, the complex annually exports about 300,000 cubic meters products.

So far, the construction of a plant for fuel granules with a capacity of 105,000 tonnes per year has been completed, a draft design for a pulp production is ready. The annual output when reaching full capacity will be: 380,000 cubic meters lumber, 105,000 tonnes of fuel pellets and 1 million tons of cellulose.

Total volume of investments in the project is estimated at RUB 140 billion  (US$2 billion).  The project, as previously reported by VEB.RF, will be implemented jointly with the investment company Rockwell Capital.
