Paper production in Azerbaijan is steadily growing, thanks to the rapid recovery of the country’s national economics from the pandemic and its consequences and the growth of paper consumption within the country, according to recent statements, made by some senior officials of the Azerbaijani government and some local media reports.
According to official state statistics, paper production in the country in 2020 grew by almost 35%, compared to 2019, while the growth is currently ongoing.
One of the reasons for this is the rapid recovery of the Azerbaijani economics from the crisis and the country’s recent successful military campaign in the Nagorno-Karabakh.
Local analysts expect the production of pulp and paper will continue to grow in Azerbaijan in years to come, despite the fact that papermaking has never been among the largest segments of industrial production of the country, which is characterized by its rich hydrocarbon reserves.
