Stora Enso is a leading provider of wood-based solutions for the construction industry, continually developing the product portfolio to meet customers’ needs, wants and pains. One of the latest new additions to the portfolio are prefabricated, ready-to-install CLT stairs.
Stora Enso CLT stairs are a lighter weight, cost-efficient single component solution that is fast to install and offers a full timber alternative to concrete or steel stairs.
“CLT stairs were born based through market demand. We have seen an increasing interest and now we are able to meet this,” says Florian De Monte, Product Manager CLT.
CLT stairs by Stora Enso are ready-to-install stair flights designed using a CAD-based system to ensure no critical details are missed. The stairways are CNC-machined (computer controlled cutting machines) in the production process to provide a high level of precision and detail.
Stora Enso also provides prefabricated CLT landings that make a perfect complement to our stairs.
CLT stairs can be installed during construction as a single component, which removes the need for temporary staircase and provides immediate access to the floor. In late spring 2020 CLT stairs were made available for our customers globally with CE marking, which is a first in the industry.
“We have provided our customers stairs in the past as a kit of parts and now they will benefit from a standardised and certified product.” Florian de Monte explains.
