Mondi is progressing with the investment and capacity increase project at the Ruzomberok mill in Slovakia where a new 300,000 tpy kraft top white containerboard machine is being installed. However, the project has run into delays as a consequence of Covid-19, Euwid reports. Originally planned for the end of 2020, the start-up of the new PM is now expected in the first half of 2021.

Mondi had also had to increase the project cost for the Ruzomberok project by €30m.

The total capital investment, including the rebuild of the pulp mill completed in 2019, is now expected at €370 million, the group announced.
