U.S. containerboard maker New-Indy Container-board has allocated some $240 million to extend the production life of its plant in York County, in the U.S. state of South Carolina.
Under the plan, the factory is to be converted to make containerboard used to produce cardboard boxes, according to the information ob-tained by local daily Charlotte Business Journal.
New-Indy Containerboard took over the factory in Catawba from Res-olute Forest Products (RFP). Set up in 1957, the production facility is operated by a workforce of about 430 employees.
