SootTech will be one of the participants in the Dragons’ Den at SPCI 2011, the world’s leading exhibition for the pulp and paper industry.
"I will get ten minutes to convince the risk capitalists that my product is the right one for them to invest in," says Erik Dahlén, founder and CEO of SootTech.
SPCI is the world’s largest exhibition for the pulp and paper industry, and it will be held May 17–19, at the Stockholm International Fairs. On May 18, as part of the conference programme, a special version of the well-known TV-show Dragons’ Den will be held. In SPCI’s version of Dragons Den each of the three participating entrepreneurs will get ten minutes in which to convince the dragons, i.e. the risk capitalists, that their product is the one worth investing in.
The participating dragons/risk capitalists are Malcolm Norlin, chairman of the board of Domsjö Fabriker, Mikael Frölander, CEO of Mont Blanc Industries which is owned by Accent Equity Partners, and Oskar Lindström, stock market analyst at Erik Penser Bankaktiebolag.
SootTech is one of the three companies that have been chosen to participate in Dragons’ Den. The company develops and markets soot systems for the pulp and paper industry. SootTech’s product, High Impact Soot System (HISS), increases the efficiency of the soot blowing systems used in the recovery boilers of the pulp mills. In addition, the system reduces energy consumption. The High Impact Soot System is in operation at several Swedish pulp and paper mills, and SootTech’s CEO, Erik Dahlén, is looking forward to presenting his innovation in the Dragons Den.
"I hope to get the risk capitalists to invest in SootTech. Additional capital would mean a faster expansion of the company, as well as opportunities to enter the international market," says Erik Dahlén.
