WWF includes trucard in database

Tullis Russell's leading coated and uncoated SBS board range trucard has been included in WWF’s database of eco-rated papers launched at PaperWorld in Frankfurt this week.

The new online database, "Check Your Paper", is aimed at helping paper buyers understand the environmental impact of their paper choice. The database allows pulp and paper manufacturers to voluntarily post details of the environmental impact of their products online. The system then awards each grade a rating according to factors such as forest sourcing, emissions, the use of recycled fibre, water pollution and the percentage of waste going to landfill. All data posted on the official list in the "Check Your Paper" database must have already been audited by an accredited third party.

trucard 1 gloss, trucard 1 gloss recycled , trucard 0 matt and trucard 0 matt recycled are all currently listed on the new database. The recycled versions contain a minimum of 50% FSC-certified post-consumer waste.

Tullis Russell recently announced plans to replace its coal and gas-fired systems with a new Biomass CHP Plant. This project is now well underway and from late 2012 the new power station will supply all of Tullis Russell's steam and electricity requirements from renewable sources.

trucard offers the widest choice of FSC-certified coated and uncoated SBS cartonboards available for the card, cover and premium packaging markets. Its unmatched breadth of range, including the recycled options, make it a popular choice with users looking for board with great print and conversion performance combined with strong environmental credentials. The range now also includes a special HP Indigo-certified version available in a variety of finishes and weights.
