Holmen in partnership on sustainable forestry

Holmen has joined forces with forest companies Bergvik Skog, Korsnäs, SCA and Stora Enso plus the forest owners’ association Södra to establish a partnership for work on forest sustainability in Sweden.

This collaboration will be headed by Hans Djurberg, recently appointed to the new position of sustainability director with the Swedish Forest Industries Federation.

The companies involved in the partnership have their forestry certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council). Together, the companies account for around 10 million hectares of FSC-certified forest land.

"This is the first time that we’ve harnessed our collective energy in this way to further forest sustainability in Sweden," comments Sören Petersson, head of Holmen Skog.

"I am in no doubt that this joint venture will enable us to go even further in our sustainability work."
