TRM Packaging is a company well placed to offer all sorts of experience in the packaging industry but it has also become a place of learning for potential students either from TRM or external companies, thanks to its recent liaison with Preston College.
A dedicated Learning Centre has been allocated for the purposes in the company’s extensive premises to assist students in many vocational subjects towards achievement of NVQ Level 2 qualifications in various disciplines. The scheme has already appealed to a variety of the workforce as can be confirmed by Paul Bridge, Change Manager, at TRM, who has been the guiding force in this clear-sighted liaison: "We are really pleased with the way in which this project has taken flight and we hope that it will continue to grow. Urged on by the success of Jason Foulds from Flint Inks, it is hoped that all our suppliers will be encouraged to also join in with this scheme as it is a great incentive for the industry as a whole."
Comprising approximately 10 different modules a year, this is a great initiative for TRM to embark upon and one which is proving to be extremely popular with the college. It is anticipated that this forward-thinking facility will go from strength to strength as more and more personnel sign up for these courses.
