Metsä Tissue to increase capacity abroad

Metsä Tissue Corporation, part of the Metsäliitto Group, has announced its decision to significantly increase the company's Away-from-Home capacity during the coming years.

The company has confirmed an investment of about seven million euros. The targeted location is the Mänttä mill in Finland, with the project scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2012.

"By enhancing our offering and product availability, the coming investment will directly support the Katrin brand's growth targets," comments Christoph Zeiler,SVP, Away-from-Home. "This regional investment will have a Europe-wide impact. It will help us to enlarge our foothold in our key markets and strengthen the Katrin brand presence there. Additionally the investment will improve the Mänttä mill's cost efficiency."

The Katrin brand is well-known throughout Europe for its active role in the promotion of hygiene. "Our customers and end users are taking an ever increasing interest in good hygiene both at the workplace and in recreational settings. The investment will create opportunities for innovative new product and service concepts which we aim to fulfill with our new resources," Mr Zeiler concludes.
