In recent months, the papcel Co. reconstructed a PM 1 press part in Mondi Ružomberok.
The aim of the project was to improve the mechanical qualities of paper and to increase work safety and efficiency of paper web threading at the machine start-up or paper break.
To meet this target, the press part was provided with a new chromium-plated transfer roll with its own drive, a level equipment controlled with a pair of hydraulic cylinders to move the transfer roll from the threading upper position into the operational bottom position, a new technological suction tube in front the 3rd press with the improved drop shape. New double oscillating doctor for the central press roll and threading pneumatic doctor was also installed.
