In 2009, the amount of FSC-certified publication paper produced in SCA’s Ortviken and Laakirchen paper mills increased 45 percent from 2008.
"The greatest demand for FSC-certified publication paper is in Sweden, Britain and Germany. It also grew in France during the year," says Jan Knuts, head of the LWC paper product area at SCA Ortviken.
Customer interest in FSC-certified publication paper still grows. Fourteen percent of publication paper deliveries from SCA’s paper mills Ortviken in Sweden and Laakirchen in Austria in 2009 were FSC-certified, thus meeting the Forest Stewardship Council’s standards for wood raw material from forests that are responsibly managed.
The Forest Stewardship Council, FSC, is an independent international organization of members working for the environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically ciable management of the world’s forests.
