Eco-design takes two major factors into account. The first factor is the environmental requirements required to meet specific regulations, certifications, and brand positioning. The second is the environmental consequences of producing such a product including consumption of resources, atmospheric emissions, production of waste, and long-term product appreciation which are considered over the entire life cycle of the product. This assures maximum overall environmental performance and a healthy 'environmental profile'.
In the case of Bolloré , Eco-design enables them to work towards reducing the environmental impact of our paper from the very beginning of the development phase. It is at this stage that the levers of improvement in the environmental profile are most important and most effective.
Based on the standardized methods of Life Cycles Analysis of Products, this approach ensures an optimal use of natural resources and minimization of our environmental impact.
Additionally, thanks to the TEAM software implemented at the beginning of this year, Bolloré are now able to carry out these life cycle analyses in-house. This software creates a life cycle analysis cell composed of multidisciplinary users (R & D services, Sustainable Development, Technical assistance and Marketing) in charge of the eco-design of new products or the re-design of existing
ranges.
This product allows Bolloré to identify the most effective practices which saves time and, above all, enables reliable calculations and conclusions.
