Södra is increasing the price of its hard pulpwood by SEK 25 per m3fub (solid volume excluding bark). The price increase, valid until further notice, means Södra will now pay SEK 300 m3fub for cleanly-sorted birch pulpwood, SEK 265m3fub for birch included in hard pulpwood and SEK 225 m3fub for other hard pulpwood.
“To meet current demand for birch pulpwood we need to top up our inventory. We hope to contract an additional 200,000 m3fub as a result of the price increase. Through the price rise we also want to stimulate activity in hardwood forest management. Therefore we’d like to encourage forest owners to take advantage of this opportunity and make the most of the favourable weather conditions we now have for harvesting,” says Södra director of forestry, Urban Eriksson.
