Importance of customer service

Early reaction to obsolescence of key components is an important element in the customer service from E.C.H. Will. In mid-2008, it was made known that Contraves drive components in older cut-size sheeters were to become obsolete. In order to avoid unscheduled production downtimes resulting from a fatal breakdown, E.C.H. Will recommended their customers to pro-actively replace such drives with modern AMK components.

As the first E.C.H. Will customer in Japan, Mitsubishi Paper Mills Ltd. decided to go ahead and replace the Contraves drive components on their 8-pocket cut-size sheeter at Hachinohe Mill at the end of 2008. Less than 12 weeks later, the new AMK drives had already been successfully installed within a short space of time, bringing optimum results. The smooth course and successful outcome of the project was due to the excellent cooperation between Mitsubishi Paper Mills, E.C.H. Will and their sales representative in Japan, K.K. Irisu (C. Illies & Co., Ltd.).

Since that milestone, there has been a positive development in the replacement of obsolete Contraves drive components worldwide. To facilitate the procedure, E.C.H. Will has developed a new module within their Technical Improvement Program (T.I.P.), namely "T.I.P. C 2103 AMK Light", dedicated to single discharge sheeters. Besides the potential increase in production, sheeter availability is the most crucial argument in the decision-making process.
