Klabin, Brazil’s largest packaging paper producer and exporter, recently won the public bid for the warehouse at the Port of Paranaguá in Paraná. At the auction, held at the headquarters of B3 in São Paulo, the company obtained access to an area measuring 27,530 m2 for 25 years, with the possibility of renewal for another 45 years. Investments totaling around R$130 million are planned and operations are scheduled to start in 2022.

“The Port of Paranaguá is one of Brazil’s most important ports and the principal shipment route for Klabin’s production. With the Puma II Project and the expected growth in export volumes, the new warehouse will provide long-term operational guarantee, fully verticalizing our operation by connecting the railway line from the plants directly to the port terminal, which enables us to achieve high logistics productivity rates and, consequently, increase the competitiveness of our products, which is essential for the sector,” said Sandro Ávila, Operational Planning, Logistics and Procurement Officer.

With the terminal concession, the company will optimize its entry into the global pulp and paper markets, ensuring greater speed and efficiency throughout the shipment process.
