Belgian paper packaging maker Van Genechten Packaging has added new machinery at its production facility in Chełmek, in Poland’s southern part.

The investment was carried out with the aim of increasing the plant’s output capacity and adding new products to its range, according to senior company representatives.

“Foreign-based customers represent 80% of our clients. We provide them with packaging for food products, as well as packaging for cosmetics and personal care products,” Robert Kaczmarek, the managing director of the Polish production facility, told local news site Rynekpapierniczy.pl.

The printing machines were acquired from German manufacturer Koenig & Bauer AG. The amount of the purchase was not disclosed by Van Genechten Packaging.

The new products are to include premium packaging products manufactured with the use of UV coating. Currently, the plant in Chełmek is operated by a total workforce of 190.
