Södra to close sawmill in Hauerseter, Norway

Södra is implementing structural changes at its sawmill and planing mill operations. The sawmill at the Norwegian Hauerseter facility will be closed while the planing mill will continue on a two-shift rotation. This change will entail an overall reduction corresponding to 17 full-time jobs.

According to the schedule, the sawmill will remain in operation until mid-February.

A total of 17 full-time positions will be affected, mainly in production. Negotiations have been initiated regarding redundancies and these are expected to be completed at the end of October.
