Renewed container board machine at Marusan Paper’s mill in Japan

Japan’s Rengo recently completed construction work to renew container board machine at Marusan Paper’s mill in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.

Marusan Paper, a subsidiary of Rengo, used to produce approximately 20,000 tonnes of containerboard per month using two paper machines, PM6 and PM7. The PM6, installed in 1973, was damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake and the performance deteriorated over a period of time.

The company has invested nearly EUR 198 million to build the new machine, PM8, with maximum production capacity of 500 tonnes per day. “As a result of the machine renewal, Marusan Paper Mfg. will continue to play a part in the economy of the company’s local region of Minamisoma-shi and Fukushima Prefecture,” the company reported.

Marusan is engaged in manufacturing, processing, and sales of paperboard and special paper.
