Consumption of pulp in Europe down 6.2% in June

Consumption of pulp in Europe decreased in June by 63,078 tonnes or about 6.2% compared to May, according to UTIPULP. Total pulp consumption in UTIPULP countries in June was 947,952 tonnes versus a May figure of 1,011,030 tonnes.

Pulp inventories in UTIPULP countries in June stood at 565,527 tonnes, down about 3.5% from a May figure of 585,817 tonnes.

UTIPULP is a European Association representing the: "Group of European Market Wood Pulp Users." Current member countries include: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
