Danalakshmi Paper Mills, one of the leading newsprint manufacturers in India, has appointed Andritz to revamp its existing deinking pulp line in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
The deinking pulp line upgrade will enable Danalakshmi to produce newsprint as well as printing and writing papers using sorted office paper, printer’s offset cuttings, coated book stock, and notebook.
According to the contract, Andritz will supply Danalakshmi with two SelectaFlot flotation stages, a thickener, a ModuScreen TC tailing screen, a cleaning plant, and pumps. The newsprint manufacturer with an installed capacity of 40,000 tonnes per year aims to enhance the quality of the waste paper stock used for paper production.
The production at new pulp line is expected to start in April 2015.
