Nippon Paper Industries announces that its newly constructed cellulose powder facility at its Hokkaido Yufutsu mill is now up and running.

Completed at a cost of 1.6 billion yen, this new facility aims to expand the business domain that is expected to increase strongly in demand, to boost profitability while ensuring a stable supply of products. The commencement of this line brings the total number of the company's production lines to four - two in the Hokkaido Mill and two in the Gotsu Mill (Gotsu-shi, Shimane Prefecture) - which will also ensure its advantageous position in terms of business continuity in the event of an emergency.

This facility will play a role in strengthening the non-paper business of Nippon Paper Industries, as the company continues to evolve as a comprehensive biomass company.

Cellulose powder is made from carefully selected pulp, which is hydrolized, purified, dried, and pulverized into fine powder.
