Gould Paper announced that it acquired Texas-based Bosworth Papers. Bosworth has distribution facilities in Houston, Austin and San Antonio, in addition to three retail paper stores.

According to Gould, Bosworth will continue to operate under its own name as a division of Gould's Dallas based subsidiary, Western-BRW Paper.

"Bosworth Papers has been servicing the Texas market for 90 years and we are extremely pleased to have Bosworth Papers join Gould Paper Corporation," said Harry E. Gould Jr., Chairman, President and CEO of Gould Paper. "This is a strategic fit for Western-BRW's existing operations and will also provide us with an additional operating location in San Antonio."

Joe Ryan, President of Western-BRW Paper, stated, "The acquisition of Bosworth Papers is highly synergistic and provides significant opportunities for future growth. It will immediately facilitate enhanced customer service, increase our product offerings and provide better mill support for both Bosworth Papers' and Western-BRW's existing customer base."

Joe Jordan, a former owner and principal of Bosworth, will directly manage the company as Vice-President of Bosworth and will report to Mr. Ryan.
