Forest Investment Company to establish new pulp mill in Russia

One of Russia’s largest pulp mills is expected soon to be built in the Novgorod region of the country by LLC "Forest Investment Company”, Russia’s leading company in the field of forestry and pulp and paper production.

The new plant is expected to be located on 44 hectares. Total volume of investments in the project is expected to reach 1.2 billion rubles (USD$36 million). The new plant is expected to be established at the same place as an existing sawmill, previously owned by UPM-Kymmene and which was recently acquired by the Russian company.

It is planned that a new plant will specialize on the production of pulp, based on processing of hardwoods.

There is a possibility that part of the funds for the project may be provided by Vneshneekonombank, one of Russia’s leading banks.
