The production of paper and paperboard in Germany experiences a stagnation, according to a report of the German Association of German Paper Mills (Verband Deutscher Papierfabriken eV). According to its data, the production of all types of paper and paperboard for the first three quarters of the current year remains almost at the level of the same period of the previous year.
Total production since the beginning of the current year amounted to about 16.8 million tonnes, which is by 0.8% below the level of the same period of 2012.
At the same time the production of paper and cardboard for the packaging industry for the same period increased by 2.1%. The production of printing paper decreased by 5.6% compared to 2012, however the production of hygienic paper, in contrast has increased by 5.1%, while technical papers by 2.4%.
