Paper production in Germany declines

Paper production in Germany in the first quarter of the current year fell by 1.9% to 5.5 million tons, compared to the same period of last year, according to a recent report, published by the German Association of Paper Mills VBP.

 At the same time exports decreased by 0.4% to 2.5 million tons, while the volume of supplies to the domestic market decreased by 1.5% to 3.08 million tons. 


The production of graphic paper decreased by 4.7% to 2.16 million tonnes, while cardboard production decreased by 0.8% to 2.6 million tonnes.


Finally, the production of tissue increased by 2.2% to 357,000 tons.
