Kama pulp and paper mill to increase its capacity

Kama pulp and paper mill, one of Russia’s largest pulp and paper producers, plans to bring on the design capacity its 7th paper machine during the next several months, according to CEO of the company Sergei Starodubsev.

According to him, after this total capacity will amount to 80,000 tons per year.

During the period of 2009-2011 the company invested about 7 billion rubles (USD$210 million) in the modernization of the machine, with the aim to significantly increase the share of the company in the market of light coated paper.

In addition to the light coated paper, the 7th machine will also specialize in the production of another types of paper, in accordance with the new unique technology with the use of hardwood.

The Kama mill has not worked since February 2012 and resumed production in 2013 after the acquisition of a its stake from the Bank of Moscow by a group of investors, led by Sergey Starodubtsev, who already headed the mill in 2004-2008.
