Poyry awarded contract for Guaiba pulp mill

Poyry announces that it has been awarded an engineering contract by CMPC Celulose Riograndense for the expansion of the company's Guaiba pulp mill in Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil.

The contract includes Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services for the Balance of Plant (BOP) and involves integrating the different processes of the mill.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The capacity of the new state-of-the-art pulp mill is 1.3 million tonnes per year and the startup of the mill is planned for the first quarter of 2015. The bleached eucalyptus pulp production line is the largest investment in the CMPC history.
