PMT Italia has received an order from the North Charleston Mill of the KapStone Paper and Packaging Corporation to upgrade the #3PM. The scope of the rebuild, planned for a 1st Quarter 2014 startup, is to replace the existing 6.2m press section and extend the first dryer section.
PMT will supply a new single ÆGO FLX SHOE module with mated ÆGO FLX ROLL as part of the new press configuration. The project is expected to improve the capability and efficiency of No. 3 Paper Machine in producing Ultra High Performance (UPL) lightweight linerboard grades.
PMT was chosen for this project as a result of their vast experience and references of similar projects. This is the second shoe press project for PMT in North America this year and demonstrates the growing presence and acceptance of PMT in the North American market.
PMT will also supply startup and commissioning services.
