Rengo inaugurates Yodogawa logistics center in Japan

Rengo Co., Ltd. announces that it has opened Yodogawa Logistics Center, a new logistics center for containerboard.

An equal to the Yashio Logistics Center (Yashio-shi, Saitama Prefecture) opened in 2015, Yodogawa Logistics Center is the Rengo Group’s largest logistics center in the Kansai region and is capable of storing approximately 20,000 tons of containerboard.

The logistics center has implemented a warehouse management system (WMS)—which Rengo has previously introduced—and truck guidance system. Operations within the warehouse—such as product storage and picking—have been significantly automated, including the use of RFID and the adoption of unmanned clamp lifts, the first case of such use in Japan at a warehouse handling containerboard. These efforts not only improve the efficiency of operations within the warehouse, but also achieve shortening of truck waiting time and product loading time.

Rengo will continue to improve transportation quality and service as well as promote the White Logistics Movement, such as by carrying out further operational reform of logistics sites and contributing toward work style reform of truck drivers.
