As part of its annual reforestation efforts in 2020, Ilim Group will plant trees in an area covering 55,000 ha in the Irkutsk and Arkhangelsk regions, Russia, using over 6.5 million seedlings and 4 tons of pine and spruce tree seeds. The number of seedlings planted grows every year.

Ilim uses ball-rooted planting stock, which helps to improve the quality of reforestation due to higher survival of planted seedlings. This planting stock production technology allows to extend the time for planting trees by several months. Forest nurseries in Ilim’s Siberian locations cover a total area of 20 thousand square meters.

Ilim Group's forestry practices are focused on efficient forest management and reforestation. All of Ilim’s leased timberlands of 7.6 million ha are certified in accordance with FSC and PEFC ™ standards.
