Maria Hollander ends as CEO of Paper Province

Maria Hollander leaves her position as CEO of the Swedish bioeconomy cluster Paper Province to seek new challenges. During her more than eight years as CEO sustainability issues and innovation have been given greater focus. “It’s been a fantastic journey”, she says.

One important milestone was when Paper Province in 2013 received a ten-year funding from Sweden's innovation agency Vinnova.

“The Vinnova funding made it possible to start a long-term strategic work to, with the forest as a base, create growth in the region of Värmland”, says Maria Hollander.

The funds also made Paper Province a more visible cluster regionally, nationally and internationally.

“Together with local actors such as Region Värmland we have made our area “hotspot” for forest-based bioeconomy. This is where you turn if you want to work and grow whithin this industry”.

Maria will continue her assignment for a few months, pending the recruitment of a successor.

“Maria Hollander has contributed so much. She has done an incredibly good job. Everyone on the board agrees that her commitment really put Paper Province on the map”, says Ola Brundin, chairman of the Paper Province board.
