Airnord has launched as an independent air-pollution control (APC) company following FLSmidth’s divestment of its Air Pollution Control business to Rubicon Partners, a UK-based private equity firm with a strong track record in industrial investments. The transaction took effect on 31 December 2025.

Formerly FLSmidth Airtech, Airnord continues the same APC business with the same people, products and capabilities. The transfer includes all intellectual property, technologies, employees and support functions. Existing contracts and partnerships remain unchanged, and customers retain their usual points of contact. Any changes related to branding, legal entities, banking or tax registrations will be handled through a controlled, phased approach with advance notice.

Airnord offers proven emissions-control technologies, including electrostatic precipitators (ESP) for particulate removal and gas suspension absorbers (GSA) for desulphurisation and acidic gas removal. As an independent company, Airnord will serve customers with greater agility and focus, supported by the same technical expertise and commitment customers already know. All ongoing projects and service activities continue without interruption.

For the pulp & paper industry, Airnord delivers technology-leading ESPs for recovery boilers, power boilers and lime kilns, combining very low emission levels, high technical performance and proven long-term reliability. With a large installed base and strong references, Airnord is the new emissions-control partner already well known within the industry.

“This marks an important milestone in our long history in emissions control,” says Flemming Jensen, CEO of Airnord. “We remain the APC partner our customers know and trust—now operating as a truly independent company. Being independent means we can focus more than ever on our core mission: helping customers minimise industrial emissions while maximising plant performance. With our highly experienced team, we will continue to invest in people, technology and solution development to meet increasingly demanding emission requirement.”

Airnord serves customers across the pulp & paper, cement, power, metallurgical and other industries, with their highly experienced team of APC experts, combining deep process application knowledge with lifecycle support, upgrades and performance optimisation.
