US boxboard production falls 2% in Q3

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) has published the Q3 2025 Boxboard Quarterly report. According to the report, total boxboard production in Q3 fell 2% compared to Q3 2024.

The boxboard operating rate was 88.7%, decreased 1.7 points from the same quarter last year.

  • Solid Bleached Folding - Domestic production increased 1% compared to Q3 2024.
  • Plate, Dish & Tray - Domestic production increased 14% compared to Q3 2024.
  • Uncoated Recycled Boxboard - Tube, Can and Drum — Domestic production increased 3% compared to Q3 2024.
