Stora Enso has officially inaugurated a new fluff pulp packing line — a EUR 42 million investment that reinforces Europe's sustainable materials supply chain.
This state-of-the-art facility transforms Nordic spruce and pine into high-quality fluff pulp, the essential ingredient in baby diapers, feminine care products, and medical applications that millions rely on daily.
The upgrade delivers on three key fronts: enhanced product quality, improved workplace safety, and greater delivery flexibility for our customers across Europe.
“As Europe's leading fluff pulp producer, Stora Enso remains committed to renewable materials that support health and comfort, and resilience. Proud to serve the millions of families who depend on these essential products every day!”, Stora Enso writes in a press statement.
Stora Enso’s Skutskär Mill, produces around 545,000 tonnes of pulp annually with 420 employees. Specializing in fluff pulp for hygiene products as well as pulp for specialty papers and liquid packaging board, the mill operates entirely on biofuels and is progressing toward carbon-neutral production.
