Kazakh pulp and paper sector on verge of breakthrough

The paper sector of Kazakhstan is steadily developing, which is reflected by the ever growing volume of domestic production and consumption, according to recent statements, made by some Kazakh media reports and some local analysts in the field of pulp and paper.

 

Probably, the highest growth rates is currently observed in the segment of toilet paper, which sales in the country, due to the introduction of quarantine measures, grew by almost 30%, compared to 2019.

 

At the same time, the overall output of the industry this year has reached almost KZT 65 billion (US$154 million).

 

Among the centers of paper production in Kazakhstan are currently the Almaty and Akmola regions.

 

The list of major paper producers in Kazakhstan consists of Kagazy JSC and Kagazy Recycling LLP, as well as Karina Trading LLP, Company B LLP and Almapack Co LTD LLP. In regard to Shymkent – another industrial center of Kazakhstan – among the largest paper factories, operating within the territory of the region, are Akzhol-2008 Ltd and Bumprom LLP.
